Storyball

Where “moneyball” uses numbers to (objectively) identify the strategies or techniques which give athletes the best chance of winning, Storyball relies on stories to help athletes recognize and reshape the thoughts and beliefs which hold them back in the notoriously subjective arena of the inner game.

This need for reshaping the inner game has been powerfully on display at the top of sports culture the past few years—think Simone Biles, Michael Phelps, Saquon Barkley, to name a few—but for the vast majority of athletes, access to mental performance tools are cut off by stigma, cost, and awareness. Storyball, through the universal power of stories, offers an innovative and accessible introduction to a toolkit that's never been more needed.

This Is The Night

My memoir tells the cautionary, coming-of-age tale of an ambitious young writer torn between two possible futures: one in which he is faithful to the God of his evangelical past, and one in which he is radically free to experience the world as his most authentic self. The book immerses readers on a journey of self-discovery inspired by the Beat generation but undertaken by a lapsed evangelical seminarian. The struggle—narrated by the young writer’s older, chastened self—is an invitation to wander in the tension between the two great gravities of American life: God and Self.
